THE QUAIL WONDER BIRD!

Quail is a collective name for several genera of mid-sized birds generally considered in the order Galliformes. Old World quail are found in the family Phasianidae, and New World quail are found in the family Odontophoridae. The buttonquail are not quail at all, are named more for their superficial resemblance to quail, and are members of the Turnicidae family, more closely related to the Charadriiformes. The King Quail, a member of the Old World quail, is often sold in the pet trade; and within this trade is commonly referred to as a “button quail”. Many of the common larger species are farm-raised for table food or egg consumption, and are hunted on game farms or in the wild, where they are sometimes artificially stocked to supplement the wild population, or extend into areas they are normally not found naturally. The collective noun for a group of quail is a covey or bevy. The quail is about the size of a pigeon. It is called a bird of passage, because it does not always live in the same place, but spends the winter in one country, and in the spring flies away to another. In their journies, they fly together in very large flocks, as you have perhaps seen wild geese or pigeons do
History of Quails in the Bible
God sometimes sent quails to the children of Israel when they were in the wilderness. Once they complained because they had no meat to eat, pretty soon after God had saved them from the hand of Pharaoh; and then he brought a great many quails into their camp, so that they had as many as they wanted for food. The Bible says, “And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth. And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails; he that gathered least, gathered ten homers; and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.”

Quail egg: The wonder Medicine
British researchers say that eggs should be pronounced a super-food as it has a very good impact on human health and even helps to fight obesity. According to nutritionists, egg as food, is one of the richest in good and essential ingredients and we all should have at least one a day.
The medicinal use of quail eggs can be traced back to ancient China and Egypt. The Chinese as well as the Egyptians used quail eggs to treat inflammatory diseases and sexual impotence. And for a long time the therapeutic properties of quail eggs were forgotten. It was in France, in 1960’s that Dr. JC Truffier, effectively used quail eggs in the treatment of sexual impotence and allergies. Since then a lot of studies has been conducted on the therapeutic uses of quail eggs. And it has been proved that quail eggs can be used in the prevention, cure and treatment of diseases associated with age, deficiency or excess of nutrients, allergies etc.
Even though small in size compared to other eggs, the nutritional content in quail eggs is many fold greater than other poultry eggs. Quail eggs are rich in various proteins, Vitamin A, B complex and E, iron, potassium and phosphorus. A comparative study of quail eggs with chicken eggs proved that quail eggs contain 5 times more phosphorus, 7.5 times more vitamin B and 15 times more vitamin B2. That’s the reason why quail eggs are some times said to be dietetic eggs.
The Nutrition and Food Science magazine published an article in which researchers emphasised the egg’s important role in general health protection as well as losing and maintaining body weight. Dr Carrie Ruxton, the leader of the study, analysed data from not less than 71 previous studies with her colleagues.
The research aimed at the nutrient content of the eggs and their role in human diet, and it turned out that while eggs are poor in calories, they’re rich in protein and full of essential nutrients important to health, such as vitamins D and B12, selenium and choline.
The investigations also confirmed that between other protein-containing foods, egg contains the richest variety and mixture of amino acids that are indispensable for the healthy growth and development of children, adolescents and young adults. In addition, the high levels of antioxidants in the egg helps in preventing the age-related macular degeneration, which is the leading cause of blindness in developed countries.
Quail egg is proved to be a very valuable source of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12 and vitamin D, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, phosphorus and other essential micro-nutrients, minerals and amino acids, which is why it is recommended for regular consumption.
To eat quail egg as part of a healthy diet, it is recommended to be consumed raw. A lot of people might not like the idea but to make the taste more pleasant, mix it with orange or tomato juice.
In order to strengthen the immune system and improve the blood quality, a course of 60 eggs is recommended, with an initial intake of three, then five eggs a day to be consumed. Obviously, no one is suggesting that quail egg is any kind of a wonder-medicine and that it will cure serious illnesses like cancer, but its positive effect on human body has been proven.
Quail egg is considered to be one of the best known natural treatment products. Chinese medical practitioners have been using quail egg as a treatment for hundreds of years with brilliant results. As quail egg is slowly becoming an easy to get product on the market, more and more people are beginning to show interest in its use as an active natural medicine instead of conventional medicines with so many side effects.
Experts in natural treatment methods claim that quail egg has positive effects on people with stress problems, hypertension, digestive disturbance, gastric ulcer, liver problems, blood pressure and lipid control, migraine, asthma, anaemia, various types of allergies, eczema, heart problems, bronchitis illnesses, depression, anxiety and panic.
Studies show that it contains 13 per cent proteins while chicken egg  provides a bit more than 11 per cent. It also contains 140 per centu03BCg vitamins B1 compared to  50 per centu03BCg in chicken egg. Also, it contains twice as much vitamins A and B2.
Quail egg provides five times as much iron and potassium as chicken eggs. It also contains more phosphorus and calcium. It does not cause allergy and diathesis. What is more, it can help to fight allergy symptoms due to the ovomucoid protein that is even used in the production of some anti-allergic drugs.
Let’s go through the benefits of eating quail eggs one by one
As a Remedy For Respiratory Disorders (TB, Asthma)
Most of the respiratory disorders such as allergic rhinitis, bronchitis, hay fever symptoms etc. are caused by the production of excess mucus by the mucus membrane, thereby inhibiting the free flow of air through the respiratory tract. Mucus is produced due the presence of chemicals like, histamine, immunoglobulin E and free radicals in our body. Free radicals also comes into our body due to atmospheric pollution. These harmful chemicals also results in acute allergic conditions like asthma.
Quail eggs are a rich source of Vitamin A and Selenium which qualifies it as an excellent histamine suppressor and an anti-oxidant. It suppresses the activity of histamine and neutralizes the free radicals there by reducing the production of mucus by the mucus membrane. This in turn makes the functioning of the lungs and the respiratory tract smooth and efficient. More over the ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids is high which helps in reducing the inflammation and improves the lung performance. Most of the inhalers and pills contains steroid and other drugs which can cause harmful side effects that can last long. These side effects include, drowsiness, weight gain etc. The good thing when taking quail eggs is that, they are 100% natural anti-inflammatory agents and you don’t have to worry about harmful side effects.
As a Remedy To Digestive Tract Disorders
As you may know, one of the painful situation affecting our digestive system is the stone formation in kidney, liver and gall bladder. Stone formation occurs due to the deposition of calcium in combination with oxalates. Vitamin C is a good source of oxalates. This oxalates from Vitamin C or other sources combine with calcium. Thus calcium is not absorbed into our body, but in turn deposits as stone. The potassium in quail eggs inhibits the urinary excretion of calcium and the Vitamin B6 along with magnesium inhibits the oxalate stone formation.
Quail eggs are rich in alkaline forming anti-oxidants which make them an all natural cure for gastritis, stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers. Taking quail eggs as part of your daily diet can get you rid of unwanted pills and unpleasant meals an that too without any side effects. The highly alkaline nature of the quail eggs neutralizes any acid related disturbances in the digestive tract. Hence by including quail eggs in our daily diet, we can have a healthy digestive system as well.
Heart Diseases
Quail eggs are low in carbohydrate and high in protein. They are rich in good cholesterol and less in bad cholesterol. This makes them an ideal heart diet. They also have the nutrients and vital components that provide the needed energy resistance from illness and also for faster recovery from diseases. This makes quail eggs a healthy heart diet to prevent heart disease and for lowering blood pressure. Quail eggs also improve a person’s blood lipid profile. As a food rich in folic acid, vitamin B12, iron, phosphorus, protein riboflavin and selenium, quail eggs is an excellent choice for reducing heart disease.
Remedy for Cancer
The number of cancer patients is increasing day by day. The increasing pollution by automotives, and uses of various chemical pesticides have contaminated our food, water and air toxic and unstable molecules called free radicals. High exposure to free radicals inside and outside our body can lead to cancer. Our cells can be protected from radical damage by taking foods rich in vitamin A and selenium. Both Vitamin A and selenium are excellent anti-oxidants and neutralizes the free radicals. Quail eggs are rich in Vitamin A and Selenium which makes it an all natural anti-oxidant. Adding quail eggs in your diet makes your body an environment unsuitable for cancer growth. This is because of the highly alkaline property of the quail eggs. Quail eggs can relieve you from the after effects of chemotherapy and also helps in recovery following the surgery for removal of cancer growth. They helps to repair the damages tissues thereby strengthening the immune system of your body.

Most of these pills leave us with conditions such as cotton mouth, stomach pain, achiness etc. These pills can be critical for those who suffer from heart conditions. Moreover, when using such pills you need to schedule your sexual activity around a time window. Quail eggs can increase your libido without any side effects or having to schedule around a specific time. Quail eggs give you a better blood circulation and strengthen your heart muscles, which in turn boosts libido and gives you a better sexual performance.
